Choosing your wedding cake can be really simple. You could see one from our gallery and just call us. However, you only have to google "wedding cakes" and no doubt you're completely confused by all the designs out there! Don't panic. It's very rare that you'll see a cake that fits your wedding perfectly and that's why we design each and every one of our cakes to suit. We will happily go through all the options with you and our designers will work with you to create the perfect cake for your special day.
First of all, please consider the fact that we are a small, couture cake company. Our designs are usually time consuming, meaning we can only take a handful of commissions every week. If you are getting married during peak wedding season, we fill our order books quickly, so to avoid disappointment, don't leave it too late to contact us. A lead time of 12 months is the average, six months is usually the minimum we ask.
So we ask that you call us to make a no-obligation appointment, where we devote that time to discussing (over big platefuls of cakes) what you require. We will then give you a price based upon the design discussed.
Should you wish to book with us, we then ask for a deposit of 30%. The main reason for this is that it secures your wedding date in our diary, as we have limited availability.
We continue to stay in contact throughout the time leading up to your wedding, so that any tweaks, colour alterations, or flavour changes can be planned well in advance of actually making your cake.
On the days leading up to your wedding, you usually have lots to do, even if you are meticulously well-organised. However, we ask that you come and see us on the day before the wedding, where your cake will be ready for you to look at.
For national deliveries, we can email images of your cake in detail so that the above final viewing is still possible.
